Working out quantities

Count courses as well as guests. At a buffet, one guest may use a plate, a bowl and a small bowl, and many come back for seconds. Send us the headcount and menu, and we'll work out the quantities for you.

Storing plates in Singapore's humidity

  • Keep cartons in a cool, dry room, off the floor, away from sinks and aircon drip.
  • Keep pieces wrapped until service. Reseal open packs.
  • Don't store them in hot sheds or near kitchen steam.
  • Use older stock first.
  • Put aside any piece with spots or a musty smell.

Ordering before the peak

Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali and December events fall in the same weeks. Send your request early and we'll confirm stock and dates in writing.

Questions from caterers

How early should I order for an event?

Send your date with your request and we'll confirm delivery in writing. Book early for Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali and December.

Do all the plates look the same?

The sizes match. The colour and grain don't, because each one is a real leaf.

How do I stop mould?

Keep cartons dry, off the floor and away from sinks and aircon drip. Keep pieces wrapped until use, and use older stock first.

What happens after use?

Areca leaf is a plant, so it breaks down in compost like any fallen leaf. Without compost collection, it goes in general waste.
